BIOGRAPHY

He was born in Megara Attikis, Greece.

He is married to his wife Voula Moraitis and they have three children

Elena, Yiannis and Paris.

He is a graduate of Senior High School of Megara and the 9^th Senior High School of Athens.

He came to the United States in 1974 and attended NYU. He continued his studies in Mechanical Engineering at City College of New York where he graduated in 1980 with his Bachelors of Engineering and Masters of Engineering in 1982.

He is a member of the American Society of Mechanical Engineers since 1980.

While attending college he was elected on the Board of the Greek - American Student Club "Homer" and a representative of it in the "Federation of Greek Students" (SEF).

He is a founding member of Pan-Magarian Society of America "Byzas" and served as a General Secretary and President from 1975 to 2005.

He played professionally soccer (1968-1974) for the Megarian Soccer team Byzas

And also played for the Varsity team of CCNY (1976 MVP), as well as the "Greek American", "Holy Cross" and "Brooklyn Kosmos" (1974-1986).

He served as an elected member of the board for the Greek Orthodox Church of Kimisis Theotokou in Brooklyn as well as a member of the Board for the "Cultural Center of the Archiodecese of  North America" in New York for two terms.

He was an elected board member of the Hellenic Societies of Greater New York and headed the Education Committee (1998-2000).

He was an elected member of the board at World Business Forum in SAE for two consecutive terms.

He is President of Proton Construction Corporation based in Brooklyn New York.

ΒΙΟΓΡΑΦΙΚΟ

Γεννήθηκε στα Μέγαρα Αττικής. Είναι παντρεμένος με τη Βούλα Μωραΐτη και έχει τρία παιδιά, την Έλενα, τον Γιάννη και την Πάρις. Φοίτησε στο Γυμνάσιο Μεγάρων και αποφοίτησε απο το 9^ο Γυμνάσιο Αθηνών.Στις Ηνωμένες Πολιτείες ήρθε το 1974 στο ΝΥU και σπούδασε Μηχανολόγος Μηχανικός στο Πανεπιστήμιο της Νέας Υόρκης (CCNY)  απο όπου απεφοίτησε το 1980 (Bachelor of Engineering) και έλαβε το μεταπτυχιακό δίπλωμα το 1982 ( Master of Engineering). Μέλος του Επιμελητηρίου Μηχανολόγων Αμερικής απο το 1980. Στα φοιτητικά του χρόνια διετέλεσε μέλος του Δ.Σ του φοιτητικού συλλόγου «Ομηρος» και αντιπρόσωπος του στην Συνομοσπονδία Ελλήνων Φοιτητών (ΣΕΦ).Είναι ιδρυτικό μέλος του Συλλόγου Μεγαρέων Αμερικής «Βύζας» και διετέλεσε Γενικός Γραμματέας και Πρόεδρος απο το 1977 μέχρι το 2005.Έπαιξε επαγγελματικό ποδόσφαιρο στον Βύζαντα Μεγάρων (1968-1974) στην ομάδα του Πανεπιστημίου CCNY (MVP-1976) και στις ομογενειακές ομάδες “Greek American”, “Holy Cross Brooklyn” και «Brooklyn Kosmos” (1974-1984). Εξελέγη στο Δ.Σ της Κοινότητας Κοίμησης Θεοτόκου στο Μπρούκλιν της Νέας Υόρκης και διετέλεσε μέλος της Διοικούσας Επιτροπής του Πολιτιστικού Κέντρου της Ιεράς Αρχιεπισκοπής Αμερικής στη Νέα Υόρκη για δύο θητείες. Εξελέγη στο Διοικητικό Συμβούλιο της Ομοσπονδίας Μείζονος Νέας Υόρκης και ήταν υπεύθυνος Παιδείας (1998-2000). Εξελέγει στο παγκόσμιο Δίκτυο Επιχειρηματιών του Συμβουλίου Απόδημου Ελληνισμού (ΣΑΕ) για δύο θητείες. Είναι Πρόεδρος της κατασκευαστικής εταιρίας Proton Construction Corp. με έδρα το Μπρούκλιν στη Νέα Υόρκη.
