Gus KaralekasBorn and raised in Queens, New York, Gus Karalekas attended Long Island City High school, St. Johns University and Peter Kump's Culinary School respectively. Today, along with his brother Chris Karalekas they own and operate the Sanford's Restaurant & Caterers in New York City.

In November of 2003, in another business venture, Mr. Karalekas and his partner George Ganginis (founder & developer of OTENET.GR) created TRAC Communications. TRAC is an international wireless security & telecommunications group with partners in N.Y.C., Greece & Argentina. TRAC Communications is developing proprietary patents specializing in GPS & GIS mapping, monitoring & tracking for use in the Commercial, Government and Military sector.

In 1999, Mr. Karalekas, along with his cousin Chris Karalekas (founder) founded Baseball Acropolis, a N.Y. not for profit organization dedicated to introducing, growing & nurturing the great game of Baseball in Greece. He has been honored the past 2 years by the N.Y. Mets with the "Spirit" Award, during Greek Heritage Day at Shea Stadium for his contributions to Hellenism, for helping to introduce the Game of Baseball to Greece, and for helping to field the 2004 Greek National Baseball Team. In July of 2003 Mr. Karalekas was asked to lead the U.S. Delegation of sports teams that competed in the first ever "Elliniada" in Thessaloniki, Greece. Mr. Karalekas along with his cousin Chris also fielded the first ever Baseball Team to compete in these games, which subsequently finished in 1st place with the gold medal.

Mr. Karalekas is an active member in many civic, political and philanthropic groups in the U.S. & Europe. A member of the European American Business Council, American Hellenic Institute (D.C), American Hellenic Council (L.A.), N.Y. State Restaurant Association & an executive board member of the Queens Council on the Arts to name a few. He is a familiar face at charitable and political events & fundraisers.

Mr. Karalekas has been sitting on the regional board of the U.S.A. of the World Council of Hellenes Abroad (SAE) since 2003, and has been actively involved with the organization since 2000 when he was elected President of the Young Professionals' Network for the Americas Region.

Mr. Karalekas resides in Astoria, New York and in his spare time he enjoys Baseball, Basketball, reading & skiing. One of his favorite quotes is:

"There is no limit to what a man can do, as long as he does not mind who gets the credit".
